Press Operator​/Production Associate

Q-Lab Corporation is currently seeking a Production Associate
. This position will be responsible for production and packaging of our standard and custom sheet metal paint test panels. The position requires a high attention to quality details and the use of industrial fabrication machinery.

• Learn and operate machinery including, but not limited to:
  Surface Grinders, 20T and 35 T Bliss Presses, Shears, Brakes, Slip Rollers, Sand Blasters
• Fast-paced automated press operation
• Continuously and consistently inspect sheet metal part quality
• Precisely count sheet metal parts before packaging
• Detect and report unusual or defective materials to the supervisor
• Ability to cross train and work any of the numerous areas within the department
• Follow Lean Manufacturing 5S practices
• Operate a forklift, JIB crane, or sling to carry raw materials or completed product
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills
• Understanding of how to work from blueprints and written specifications
• Working knowledge of basic computer software
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for 90% of work day if needed
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as necessary
• Ability to work in loud conditions that require hearing protection

• Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
• Experience operating JIB cranes and slings to hang, lay, or move large coils of sheet metal
