Overview
Be among the first applicants for a Veterinary Assistant position at Banfield Pet Hospital. You will work closely with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to advocate for pets and educate clients on pet health. The role offers learning and development opportunities to advance your career.
Responsibilities- Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service while ensuring pets and clients are comfortable in the hospital.
- Use technical skills daily within state practice acts and NAVTA guidelines for veterinary assistant skills and duties.
- Help maintain the flow of patients.
- Communicate with the veterinarian and veterinary technicians.
- Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or veterinary technician assistance.
- Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organized.
- Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care.
- Mentor other members of the hospital team.
- Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to perform all required NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program skills at a level that aids in the efficiency of the practice.
