Job Summary

Ground Works Land Design is seeking a skilled Hardscape Crew Member to join our team in Westlake, OH. In this hands‑on role, you'll assist with the construction and installation of high‑quality residential and commercial hardscape projects, including patios, walkways, retaining walls, driveways, and outdoor living features. You'll work closely with the Hardscape Foreman to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physically active work, has an eye for detail, and wants to grow their career in the landscaping and hardscape construction industry.

Starting Pay Range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

• Assist in the installation of paver patios, retaining walls, natural stone walkways, fire pits, and other hardscape features
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment, including saws, grinders, laser levels, and skid‑steer loaders
• Follow and execute project instructions from the Hardscape Foreman or other management
• On‑call for snow removal during winter months
• Perform excavation and site grading as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, work site, and equipment
• Follow blueprints, drawings, and detailed project instructions
• Properly use equipment and perform job duties to the Ground Works Land Design standard
• Able to take direction and constructive criticism
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Positively promote company culture
• Job titles include Landscape Construction Crew, Construction Crew Member, Outdoor Living Construction Laborer, Stonework & Hardscape Helper

• 1‑2+ years of experience in construction, hardscape, or landscape installation
• Experience with paver installation, retaining wall construction, and grading preferred
• Ability to use power tools and read a tape measure
• Stamped concrete experience is a plus but not required
• Able to lift more than 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks
• Able to crouch, bend, climb stairs/ladders, and stand for long periods
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and noisy environments
• Ability to work successfully with limited supervision
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus
