The Senior Quality Specialist - Hard Surface Flooring serves as the subject matter expert for quality concerns involving Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP), hardwood, and laminate flooring products. This position leads product inspections, investigates quality concerns, partners with internal Quality Control teams and manufacturing facilities, and supports the resolution of quality-related customer issues.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive product knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make informed recommendations regarding product quality and defect resolution.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead inspections and evaluations of hard surface flooring products, including LVP, hardwood, and laminate.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for product quality concerns and defect identification.
  • Investigate product performance issues and identify root causes.
  • Partner with Quality Control teams and manufacturing facilities to evaluate and resolve quality concerns.
  • Coordinate with mills and suppliers regarding product defects, quality trends, and chargeback support.
  • Provide technical findings and recommendations to support the claims and chargeback process.
  • Review inspection reports, photographs, samples, testing results, and customer documentation.
  • Collaborate with the shipping team regarding product returns, replacements, and quality reviews.
  • Track and analyze product quality trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support operations teams in developing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, findings, recommendations, and resolutions.
  • Serve as a resource to Sales, Customer Service, Claims, and Operations teams regarding product quality matters.
  • Travel as needed to conduct inspections, visit customers, or support quality investigations. (5% or less)
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in flooring, quality assurance, quality control, inspections, product support, claims support, or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of hard surface flooring products, including LVP, hardwood, and laminate.
  • Experience identifying product defects and conducting root cause investigations.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to make sound, fact-based recommendations regarding product quality issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AS400 systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
