Westwood Professional Services Inc. is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our renewable energy team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

• Responsible for structural design of foundations and ancillary structures for utility scale wind solar transmission line and substation projects.
• Prepares or directs the structural design reports specifications and plans.
• Review and approves project submittals RFIs and supports field activities during construction.
• Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects.
• Day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers.

• Bachelors degree in civil / structural engineering from an ABET accredited college.
• EIT / FE or PE required. S.E. registration a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of structural engineering work experience required.
• Familiar with applicable codes and standards (IBC ASCE 7 AISC 360 ACI 318).
• Knowledge of shallow and deep foundations including spread footings slab-on-grade piles and concrete caissons. Knowledge of connection and anchorage design such as cast-in-place post installed welds and high-strength bolts.
• Familiar with steel member design including wide flange channel pipe plate and angle sections.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word Excel etc.) a must.
• Proficient with structural engineering software such as Mathcad STAAD RISA Enercalc and LPile a plus.
• Knowledge of bridge design and evaluation is a plus.
• Background in geotechnical engineering solar and wind energy transmission and distribution and substations a plus.
• AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.
• Effective verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and check the quality of own and others work.
• Ability to use sound engineering judgment.
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning organizing and prioritizing with attention to details.
• Minimal travel possible.
