School Counsellor

The Counselling Service at Westminster Under School is an important pillar of support of pupil welfare, through the provision of both counselling and psychotherapeutic services.
Responsibilities- Work with young people with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties, providing supportive counselling and undertaking more complex assessment and treatment of mental health difficulties.
- Help members of staff support the wellbeing of pupils.
- Forge strong links with the Learning Development Department so as to ensure that those pupils who have access arrangements and neurodiverse profiles are able to be supported as effectively as possible.
- Qualified child and adolescent counsellor, or psychotherapist registered with an appropriate professional body.
- Experience of providing formal assessment, treatment and management of young people with a range of mental health difficulties.
- Understanding of multiple theoretical backgrounds and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy.
