The Ash Group is hiring a new Principal Electrical System Engineer - Electrical Systems Payloads for our client (a global leader providing advanced systems and support in defense, aerospace, and security
) based in Westminster, CO
. You will serve as a technical leader for multidisciplinary teams, defining, developing, and integrating complex, high-reliability electronic products for space-based payloads across the full program life cycle.
Compensation, Benefits, and Role Info
- Competitive pay rate of $71 per hour.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide technical leadership for multidisciplinary teams (including mechanical, optical, RF, and software) to define discriminating electronics solutions for spacecraft payloads.
- Lead system‑level analysis, modeling, simulation, and risk assessment to derive, allocate, and flow down electrical system requirements.
- Define complex space‑based electronic components, including focal plane interface electronics, single‑board computers, power conversion products, and FPGA‑based controllers
. - Lead the resolution of electrical hardware anomalies at the system level and perform root cause analysis and corrective action for flight hardware.
- Maintain end‑to‑end electrical compatibility
, functional allocations, and margins across the entire system.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Engineering or a related technical field plus 6 or more years of related experience.
- Detailed design expertise in analog and digital circuits
, FPGA
, PCB design/layout, and electronics packaging. - Strong working knowledge of interface and design documentation, including functional block diagrams and fabrication documents.
- Experience developing electronics to quality and reliability standards for customers like NASA, NOAA, and DoD.
- Demonstrated ability to apply systems thinking and robust problem‑solving skills to complex technical and programmatic challenges.
