Engineering and Construction Project Manager I, II, III or Senior
Responsible for the strategic leadership and project management of transmission and generation capital projects including transmission lines, substations, new generation facilities and joint participation projects through the effective coordination of resources, both internal and external, to support the timely and efficient completion of system additions and modifications. Includes providing strategic leadership and direction on assigned projects and developing, maintaining and implementing project management processes, procedures and documentation.
Note:
There is one position available, and this position will be filled at one of four job grade levels: engineering and construction project manager I (grade
8), II (grade
9), III (grade 10) or senior engineering and construction project manager (grade 11). The decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate and Tri‑State’s business needs at the time of hire.

- Engineering and Construction Project Manager III – $106,000‑$148,000
- Engineering and Construction Project Manager II – $96,000‑$133,000
- Engineering and Construction Project Manager I – $86,000‑$118,000
Actual compensation may vary outside the posted range based on work experience, education and/or skill level.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and direction on assigned projects, identify risk components and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop, maintain and implement project management processes, procedures and documentation for budget and execution of transmission and generation capital projects.
- Assemble and lead project resource teams and represent Engineering and Construction at project meetings.
- Provide documented scope, schedule, deliverables, resource needs and budget estimates for each project.
- Support the development of project contracts or agreements and assure compliance to the terms and conditions through the construction and capitalization of the assets.
- Provide periodic progress reports to management including project metrics, milestones, scope changes, budget analysis and schedule updates.
- Utilize project metrics and team input to analyze project performance and provide actions to support successful completion.
- Coordinate and track the submittal of required Sarbanes‑Oxley, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation and approvals for transmission projects.
- Initiate and monitor cost accounting, invoicing, cash flow forecasting and close‑out of capital projects.
- Communicate with all project stakeholders and participants, providing timely responses to information and documentation needs.
- Provide project management data to the capital cost database for use in preparing detailed project estimates, variance reporting and budgets.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and remain knowledgeable of regulations, laws, standards and best practices applicable to the functional area.
- Because Tri‑State has an obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Knowledge of transmission facilities, generation facilities, functions, and typical applications.
