Job Description Working as a Master Program Planner at BAE Space and Mission Systems (SMS) is an exciting opportunity to become part of a high-tech team of people developing innovative products for the Aerospace and Defense industry. You will be responsible for developing a multi-year plan that the team must follow to produce the customer deliverable. You will work closely with program managers, functional managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that schedules are aligned with program objectives and customer requirements.
A Master Program Planner Senior is supporting programs with a sound understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards. Will work to develop solutions on a variety of complex problems. Work is performed under general direction, while independently determining and developing an approach to solutions. Possess an increased level of responsibility and execution, working independently in supporting programs of more complexity and size.
As experience increases, skills, and knowledge are evolving to permit continued support to larger programs and providing key management analytical information to PMs. Beginning to exert influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Represents the organization as a prime contact on programs support. The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.
What You'll Do:
* Review the program contract, statement of work and flow-down requirements and develop a plan to meet the requirements. Communicate plan to program team.
* Develop and manage program schedules using IMS, ensuring alignment with program objectives, customer requirements, and internal standards.
* Lead the development and implementation of the program baseline to meet the internal and external requirements.
* Provide the program with primary and secondary critical path analysis, variance to baseline analysis, and look-ahead reporting.
* Develop and issue all customer and management schedule reporting. Present schedule data as required.
* Collaborate with the Control Account Managers (CAM) and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads to determine resource needs to support the work.
* Work with CAMs to ensure schedule updates are entered into the IMS as provided.
* Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in schedules.
* Maintain the schedule baseline per formal change control process as necessary.
* Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in schedules, and develop recovery schedules as necessary.
* Develop what-if schedule inputs and analysis to support program planning and decision-making.
* Support new business proposals with development of proposal schedules
* Work with PM, CAM, Responsible Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure scheduled work for Programs is being communicated effectively.
* Periodically audit program schedules to assure they are developed using company standards and industry best practices.
* Work with the material planning group to understand program material and subcontractor requirements that are integrated into the Program schedule.
* Provide support to the program scheduler during program planning and assure a successful Integrated Baseline Review.
* Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
* Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
* Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
* Bachelor's degree plus 4 or more years related experience.
* Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work in a team setting, coordinating group initiatives in order to bring a project to completion.
