What You'll Be Doing

As Investigations Manager, you will play a central role in managing and delivering complex, high‑profile investigations into alleged breaches of the MPs' Code of Conduct, alongside overseeing aspects of the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme. You will assess complaints, gather and evaluate evidence, conduct formal interviews, and draft clear, impartial recommendations that may ultimately be scrutinised by the Select Committee on Standards and the Independent Expert Panel.

You will deal with sensitive, confidential and often challenging cases involving senior stakeholders, while helping to ensure that Parliament's standards framework operates credibly and transparently. You’ll also contribute to improving investigative practice, shaping guidance and supporting the Commissioner’s wider work, including the Annual Report. The role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation of spending 40% of your time in the office.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience of working in a professional disciplinary, regulatory or civil justice environment, with a strong track record of working on complex, high‑profile investigations, assessing sensitive evidence and producing fair, impartial recommendations while handling highly confidential information.
  • Strong judgement and drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear, rigorous reports and recommendations.
  • The confidence to master detailed frameworks, procedures and legislation, including equality and data protection considerations.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with senior and high‑profile stakeholders, while responding constructively to challenge and maintaining resilience.
  • A clear commitment to political impartiality and to upholding equality, diversity and inclusion.
