Tech Reporter

POLITICO is seeking a Tech Reporter to join its U.K. team and cover U.K. tech policy. This role will focus on delivering exclusive, high-quality reporting for POLITICO Pro subscribers while also contributing to POLITICO’s broader audience. Reporting to the editorial team, the position involves breaking news, developing scoops, and co-authoring a must-read morning newsletter.

• Co-author a daily morning newsletter for POLITICO Pro subscribers.
• Develop original story ideas and exclusive scoops for both the subscription service and POLITICO’s free-to-read website.
• Cover the formulation and direction of U.K. tech policy, identifying key power players and political dynamics.
• Analyze the implications of policy decisions for industry and the wider political landscape.
• Collaborate with POLITICO’s global tech reporting teams in Washington, Brussels, Berlin, Paris, and Silicon Valley.

• Strong interest in Westminster politics and policy.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex policy issues.
• Pre-existing knowledge of tech policy is desirable but not essential.
• Proven ability to develop sources and break original stories.
• Comfortable working at speed while also managing longer-term investigative projects.
• Self-starter with flexibility and initiative.
