• Cashier/Checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging and assisting customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system.
• Handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages/overages and control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers, assisting with product questions.
• Follow all legal and company guidelines.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
