Job SummaryLicensed Journeyman Plumber responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems on commercial service projects. Focus areas include hydronic heating systems, mechanical rooms, and various other commercial applications. The role requires technical excellence, strong communication skills, and the ability to clearly explain maintenance procedures to clients upon completion.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including water, gas, and drainage pipes, fixtures, and appliances in commercial buildings.
- Specialize in hydronics, installing and maintaining hydronic heating systems and components (boilers, radiators, piping).
- Install and service plumbing systems in mechanical rooms, including pumps, water heaters, and pressure regulators.
- Work with a variety of materials including PVC, copper, PEX, black iron, and galvanized steel pipes.
- Collaborate with HVAC and electrical teams for integration of plumbing systems on large‑scale projects.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, specifications, and project plans to ensure compliance with building codes.
- Use pipe cutters, threading machines, soldering torches, pressure gauges, and inspection cameras for installations and repairs.
- Perform backflow prevention testing and other code‑required inspections.
- Troubleshoot plumbing issues, diagnose system malfunctions, and repair or replace faulty components as needed.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company safety standards.
- Provide guidance to apprentice plumbers, ensuring quality and adherence to industry standards.
- Communicate service and maintenance procedures clearly to clients upon completion of tasks.
- Start work on time with required hand tools and PPE to perform the job safely and productively.
- Represent the company positively to others.
- Assume responsibility in designated project areas.
- Plan and motivate crew to meet schedules and goals.
- Maintain a safe and professional work area through good housekeeping.
- Stay knowledgeable of local and national plumbing codes and industry standards.
- Respond to client needs 100% of the time.
- Adhere to company safety guidelines and policies.
- Track work performed and hours using company systems (MSI, Keystyle, etc.).
- Be available for on‑call work, including after‑hours shifts (Friday‑Thursday, rotating schedule).
- Participate in meetings and training as necessary.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Current Journeyman Plumbing License in the state of Colorado.
- Proven experience in commercial plumbing, including mechanical rooms and hydronic systems.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing materials, tools, and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of local plumbing codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with other trades.
