The hourly rate of pay for this student employment position is $15.00 per hour.
The Workforce, Business & Community Education (WBCE) division at Carroll Community College is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student worker to assist with administrative and program-related tasks. This position offers valuable hands‑on experience toward the development of communication, organizational, and time‑management skills in a professional setting while supporting the department’s operations. Additionally, the role offers opportunities to network with staff while maintaining a flexible schedule that accommodates academic commitments.
Upon successful completion of this work assignment, the student worker will be provided a letter of recommendation to be used for future employers, internships, portfolio, or program admission, reflective of their performance. Furthermore, the student worker may request to learn specific office and/or management skills as part of their work experience with WBCE.
- Provide program support, including setup and material preparation.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory organization.
- Conduct basic research and compile information as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the department’s mission.
- Must be a Federal Work Study student.
- Must be a currently enrolled student at Carroll Community College.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and conducting internet searches.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Prior customer service or office experience is a plus but not required.
Monday–Friday, flexible hours between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

- Complete the online Student Employment Application.
- Indicate the department for which you are applying; only one application is needed.
- Complete the FAFSA for Federal Work Study positions.
- Be registered for at least six credits with a 2.0 GPA.
- Student workers under the age of 18 must provide a valid work permit prior to starting employment.
- If eligible, your application will be forwarded to supervisors with open positions.
- The application will be held for one year, July 1 to June 30.
- Interview with the hiring supervisor for the position of interest.
- If selected, you and your supervisor must complete all federal, state and college forms. This document is obtained from your supervisor or the Human Resources webpage.
- Complete and submit all federal, state, and college employment forms. The I–9 is submitted to your supervisor and the other forms are submitted to student employment.
- Create a work schedule with your supervisor that does not conflict with your class schedule.
- When all forms are turned in you and your supervisor will be notified so a start date can be established.
