Overview
Is responsible for the production of high quality sonograms in an efficient manner while ensuring the safety, comfort, and care of patients in the sonographer's supervision. Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information with medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician. Maintains thorough knowledge of equipment used for diagnostic ultrasound as well as software and systems used to maintain patient information and diagnostic images (PACS).
Responsibilities- Produce high quality sonograms in an efficient manner.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
- Analyze sonograms, synthesize findings with medical history, and communicate results to physicians.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of ultrasound equipment and related software/PACS.
- Preferred Associate s Degree
- Preferred High School Diploma
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
- Current:
Less than 2 years experience in a hospital or outpatient Ultrasound Department; solid foundation in diagnostic ultrasound systems and exams (Required) - RDMS – Sonographer
- CPR – AHA Healthcare Provider
- RVT – Registered Vascular Tech
- Must be flexible with work assignments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with patients, staff, and physicians
- Accurate attention to detail and willingness to learn
