The Firefighter/Paramedic plays a crucial role in the emergency response of Carroll County Government. You will respond to emergency situations with calm, quick actions. We are looking for a strong understanding of EMS protocols capable of helping citizens and basic life support providers through crisis. Your day-to-day will include important decisions to balance medical needs, overtake challenges, and take critical actions to provide advanced life support, firefighting, and rescue.
Qualifications- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Validated Paramedic and fire service field experience
- Class C non-commercial driver's license
- Cardiac Rescue Technician, Paramedic certification (Maryland) or National Registry (NREMT) Paramedic
- Firefighter I certification by MFSPQB, Pro-Board, IFSAC, or DOD
- Firefighter II certification by MFSPQB, Pro-Board, IFSAC, or DOD (or must obtain within 1 year of hire date)
- Common Passenger Vehicle Technical Rescuer
-Technician or Rescue Technician (site operations, vehicle, and machinery) certification by MFSPQB, Pro Board, IFSAC, or DOD (or must obtain within 1 year of hire date) - Emergency Vehicle Operator course (MFRI, VFIS, or equivalent)
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, & 800
- Flexible schedules including 24 hours on, 72 hours off. Ability for unlimited swaps
