The HVAC Specialist conducts prebuild inspections of components and performs a variety of general mechanical and/or electrical assembly of components to build HVAC units for use in the rail car industry according to drawing specifications.
Essential Functions- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment and ensure compliance with company rules and policies.
- Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines and regulations. Be energy conscious, if applicable.
- Must understand and comply with applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, AAR, and CMMI).
- Maintain and safeguard business records.

- Installation of sub‑assemblies and other components
- Installing gaskets and sealants
- Running wiring
- Fixing components and hardware installation
- Building of wiring harnesses per work instruction and/or schematics
- Installation and assembly of unit electrical assemblies and other components
- Integrate sum of parts into the HVAC unit
- Installation of HVAC refrigeration systems, including brazing copper piping
This role will also include lead responsibilities for one or more assigned special processes. See the appropriate addendum for the assigned special process(es).
Technical CompetenciesMust be able to follow work instruction and use drawings and read blueprints and schematics.
