HVAC Assembler

The HVAC Technician I conducts pre‑build inspections of components and performs a variety of general mechanical and/or electrical assembly of components to build HVAC units for use in the rail car industry according to drawing specifications.

• Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment and ensure compliance with company rules and policies.
• Comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines and regulations. Be energy conscious where applicable.
• Understand and comply with applicable standards (ISO 9001, ISO 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, AAR, CMMI).
• Maintain and safeguard business records.
• Conduct pre‑build inspections of components, noting any pre‑existing handling damage prior to beginning the build process.
• Use approved manufacturing work instructions; assemble components with hand, pneumatic, and power tools according to drawing specifications, adhering to quality requirements and best practices.
• Perform assembly processes including installation of sub‑assemblies and components, installing gaskets and sealants, running wiring, fixing components and hardware installation, building wiring harnesses per work instruction/schematics, and assembling unit electrical assemblies.
• Inform supervisor of any part or equipment defects noted during the build process.
• Monitor the shelf life of consumables, following established disposal methods.
• Perform serialization of parts in SAP as pertaining to work orders.
• Provide support and assistance to other technicians and team members, as directed, and perform additional duties as assigned.

The anticipated wage scale for Westminster, Maryland is $20.44 per hour. Compensation is subject to factors such as experience, industry years, and education.
