Unarmed Security Officer

Enterprise Security Services Corporation is seeking dedicated individuals to provide unarmed security services at client properties in Westminster and surrounding Carroll County communities.

This position supports client operations across Westminster and nearby areas. Depending on staffing requirements, assignments may include retail properties, commercial buildings, shopping centers, and other designated locations.
Officers may be assigned to different sites as coverage needs change. Reliable transportation, punctual attendance, and the ability to adapt to individual property procedures are important for success in this role.

• Maintain an attentive, professional presence to help deter theft, trespassing, vandalism, and unauthorized entry.

• Patrol designated indoor and outdoor areas to identify unusual activity, security weaknesses, and potential hazards.

• Observe entrances, exits, and other access points according to the procedures established for each location.

• Assist customers, employees, tenants, and visitors with courtesy and professionalism.

• Identify disturbances and respond appropriately, following site instructions and established emergency procedures.

• Report suspicious activity, safety concerns, and security incidents to the appropriate contacts.

• Complete daily activity records and incident reports accurately and within required time frames.

• Communicate relevant developments to site management and contact emergency services when necessary.

• Comply with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.

Candidates should demonstrate reliability, sound judgment, and a willingness to perform their duties consistently.

Applicants must meet these requirements:

• Possess the required Maryland security guard certification or be eligible to obtain it through our licensed agency in accordance with Maryland State Police requirements.

• Meet Maryland's minimum age and eligibility standards for security work.

• Successfully pass the required criminal background check.

• Have dependable transportation to reach assigned locations throughout Westminster and the surrounding service area.

• Communicate effectively and remain attentive to their surroundings.

• Be able to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Maintain punctual attendance and a professional appearance.

Previous security experience is an advantage but is not mandatory. Candidates without prior experience may also be considered if they meet the applicable eligibility requirements.

A clean, professional Class A black uniform is required. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain the required uniform for their assignment.

Radios and other equipment may be provided according to site requirements. Officers are expected to comply with all applicable appearance standards and equipment procedures.

Assignments may be scheduled during the day, evening, or overnight, including weekends and holidays.
