Job Summary
RMS is seeking to hire a Commercial HVAC Installer. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, and custom piping solutions. The position requires technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and a customer-centric approach to support RMS’s reputation for excellence in the Mid-Atlantic commercial and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities- Install commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, VAV systems, and custom HVAC piping, adhering to blueprints, specifications, and local codes.
- Perform system commissioning and testing to ensure optimal performance and compliance with manufacturer standards.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to enhance efficiency and longevity (filter changes, belt checks, system diagnostics).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical components in commercial HVAC systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution on commercial and industrial job sites.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain system operations, maintenance needs, and energy-efficient solutions.
- Strictly adhere to OSHA safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, proficiency in VRF, rooftop units, split systems, VAV, and mini-splits.
- Strong CW, HW and refrigeration piping knowledge and skill.
- EPA Section 608 Certification required; NATE, OSHA 10/30.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, blueprints, schematics, and building automation systems.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, work on rooftops, and access confined spaces in various weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC trade school or apprenticeship program preferred.
