Residential Children's Services Team Leader

    Up to £33,008.21 with sleep in shifts

    Up to £34,687.81 with sleep in shifts

Headway Adolescent Resources, established 1999, is a reputable residential adolescent childcare provider that focuses on holistic, individualized care for young people.

Purpose of role
:
To ensure that the needs of young people in Headway's care are met and to provide a positive and safe living experience, and to manage and lead Residential Support Workers to deliver high quality childcare.

  • Work on shift to ensure the Home runs efficiently and safely.
  • Manage Residential Support Workers, providing supervision.
  • Comply with safeguarding policies, legislation, and Home's procedures.
  • Promote best practice, maintain confidentiality.
  • Support effective multi‑agency working and maintain relationships.
  • Deliver training and support QCF learners.
  • Assist in development and delivery of young people's plans.
  • Play an active part in promoting participation of young people in decision-making.
  • Promote anti‑discriminatory and equal opportunity practices.
  • Comply with health & safety, fire and data protection policies.
  • Attend all required training.
Essential Skills
  • Good overall standard of education.
  • Working towards or hold Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of child care legislation, children's home regulations and quality standards.
  • Previous experience working directly with young people with challenging behaviour.
  • Good report writing, numeracy, organisational and administrative skills, IT literacy.
  • Empathy and commitment to high standard of care.
  • Strong motivational, management and leadership potential; able to supervise and develop staff.
  • Knowledge of relevant children's home legislation and local & national child protection procedures and protocols.
