Senior Quantity Surveyor

Benjamin Grace are recruiting on behalf of a leading rail infrastructure organisation for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a busy engineering division delivering major rail projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing business working across high-profile rail infrastructure schemes within the signalling, power and communications sectors. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of projects, ensuring strong financial and contractual management throughout the project lifecycle.

The role would suit a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for long-term career progression within a fast-paced rail contracting environment.

• Production of monthly accounting, costing, contract management and financial reporting information
• Monitor, analyse and report on bill of quantities, specifications and contractual implications across ongoing and new projects
• Liaise with clients regarding costing information, managing and highlighting variations to cost and specification
• Support development opportunities and follow‑up business including the provision of quotations for minor works
• Assist the Contracts Manager with tender enquiries, responses and determination of charging structures
• Support commercial risk management and contractual compliance across projects
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams

• Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a rail contracting or infrastructure environment
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing cost, contracts and reporting
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Self‑motivated with a proactive approach and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Ambitious with a desire to develop personally and progress within the commercial function
