Site Manager - Weston-super-Mare
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join an established contractor on a school refurbishment project based in Weston-super-Mare.
The project will involve the replacement of windows, refurbishment works and associated building works within a school environment. The successful Site Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining programme and ensuring all works are delivered safely and to a high standard.
This is an immediate start opportunity, initially running for 8-12 weeks, with the potential for further work on additional projects for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site
- Managing and coordinating subcontractors and site operatives
- Overseeing window replacement and general refurbishment works
- Ensuring works are completed in line with the agreed programme
- Managing site health & safety and ensuring all RAMS and site procedures are followed
- Carrying out inductions, toolbox talks and regular site inspections
- Monitoring workmanship and maintaining high standards of quality
- Coordinating deliveries, materials and site logistics
- Liaising with the client, subcontractors and wider project team
- Maintaining accurate site records and completing relevant paperwork
- Identifying and resolving any issues that may impact programme or quality
- Ensuring the site remains clean, safe and well organised throughout the works
- Working within a live school environment while minimising disruption to staff and pupils
- Previous experience working as a Site Manager on refurbishment or building projects
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades
- Experience working within schools, education or other live environments would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of health & safety requirements
- SMSTS and CSCS required
- Enhanced DBS required
- First Aid desirable
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the project
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and programme
