About the role
The post will be based at Weston General Hospital and will support the provision of general anaesthesia services for a variety of specialties, including upper and lower GI surgery, trauma & orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, preoperative assessment and acute pain. The role will primarily focus on Weston, with opportunities to work across UHBW sites. The successful applicant will also participate in the weekend on‑call rota (approximately 1:8), evening sessions (currently approximately 1:8) covering emergency operations until 20:00, and overnight on‑call Department of Anaesthesia supports the pre‑operative assessment service and acute pain service, so the appointee will contribute to these areas.
Keyresponsibilities
Support general anaesthesia services for the specialties listed above and contribute to the pre‑operative assessment and acute pain services. Work flexibly to ensure smooth service delivery and develop a specialist interest where appropriate.
Qualifications- Hold an FRCA (UK) or equivalent qualification.
- Be within 6 months of the CCT date at the time of interview, or have CESR.
- Prepared to work flexibly to ensure smooth service delivery.
