A primary school in Weston is seeking a Special Needs teaching assistant with strong background working with children with Autism and behavioural difficulties (SEMH). The role involves 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil who follows his own curriculum and may be challenging. You will need to be patient, firm but fair. Experience working with children or young people with Autism and speech and language needs is required;
experience with PECS and Makaton is warmly welcomed. Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCO and occasionally external agencies, you must have excellent communication skills (written and spoken). You will meet the child's parents daily and provide feedback from the day. Working hours are 08:30–15:45, with pay £89.00 per day depending on experience. The school is well served by public transport, with parking available.

- Experience working with Key Stage 1 pupils
- Experience with ASD, ADHD and SEMH
- PECS and Makaton – not essential but highly desirable
- Two‑form entry Primary School
