Elementa is recruiting for a Programme Lead of Computer Science for this popular Secondary School in Weston-super-Mare. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Computing professional ready to lead and develop a high-performing department.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the leadership and strategic development of the Computer Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching, curriculum innovation, and strong student outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Computer Science department, setting high standards for teaching and learning.
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Computer Science and Computing lessons across Key Stages.
Monitor, evaluate, and improve student progress through effective assessment and intervention.
Lead curriculum development and assessment planning within the department.
Mentor, support, and develop colleagues to promote professional growth and best practice.
Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Work collaboratively with senior leaders and departmental staff to drive continuous improvement.
Keep up to date with developments in the Computer Science and Computing curriculum and implement innovative teaching approaches.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
Proven experience teaching Computer Science/Computing at secondary level.
Demonstrable experience in a leadership or management role, or readiness to step into one.
Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science, including programming and digital literacy.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to raising standards and inspiring students.
