We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEND secondary setting in Clevedon.

This is a full-time role starting ASAP, working with young people who thrive when relationships are strong, consistent and rooted in trust.

• Deliver planned lessons to secondary-aged pupils using a co-exploring and modelling approach
• Build warm, attuned relationships that help pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn
• Use PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) to support emotional regulation and engagement
• Work alongside teachers to provide small group and 1:1 support
• Create an inclusive, calm and encouraging learning environment
• Support pupils’ personal development as well as academic progress

• HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils, ideally within SEND
• A strong understanding of relational practice and trauma-informed approaches
• Ideally, knowledge of PACE, Thrive, and Team Teach
• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons and adapting learning to meet individual needs
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine belief in every child’s potential
