Maintenance Engineer

Reed Recruitment are supporting a leading global manufacturer within the sustainable paper and packaging sector who are looking to strengthen their engineering team with the appointment of a Shift Engineer at their site near Weston-Super-Mare . This is a permanent position working on a 4-shift rotation , offering the opportunity to join a well-established business with significant investment, modern manufacturing equipment, and a strong focus on employee development, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

Electrical and mechanical fault finding on automated production and manufacturing equipment Leading breakdown response activities to minimise downtime and maximise machine uptime Carrying out planned preventative and predictive maintenance activities Working with hydraulic, pneumatic, steam and mechanical drive systems Fault finding and maintenance of AC drives, including Siemens, ABB and SSD systems Supporting and troubleshooting Siemens S5/S7 and Allen Bradley PLC-controlled machinery Collaborating closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety and output The successful candidate will be a proactive engineer with strong fault-finding capabilities, excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
