Med Gen Healthcare is seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Mental Health Healthcare Assistants to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex mental health needs.
The Role- Provide consistent emotional support and reassurance to children experiencing anxiety, distress, or behavioural challenges.
- Support children with autism and ADHD to manage routines, transitions, and sensory sensitivities.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mealtimes, hygiene, and maintaining a structured routine.
- Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies in line with care plans.
- Safely manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques where necessary.
- Maintain accurate, clear, and timely records of care provided and incidents.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, structured, and stimulating environment tailored to individual needs.
- Minimum 6 months UK experience working as a Healthcare Assistant
- Experience supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- In date PMVA training (or willingness to do).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Good understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and professional boundaries.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- In-date PMVA training (or willingness to complete training).
- Ability to provide a clinical reference.
- Competitive pay rates - £22.25 to £28 per hour.
