Temp till Mar 26 Role Overview:
- We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Homeless Outreach Team Leader to lead a frontline outreach service supporting people who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping. The role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the outreach service, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support is delivered consistently and safely.
- Working both strategically and operationally, the Team Leader will lead and support staff, carry a small caseload, and work closely with partner agencies to improve outcomes for individuals experiencing homelessness. This is a demanding but rewarding role that requires strong leadership, sound judgement, and a commitment to collaborative working and continuous improvement.
- The role involves 2x early morning shifts per week (6am - 2pm) and 3x day shifts (9am - 5pm)
- Lead, manage, supervise, and motivate the outreach team, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, rota cover, and effective performance
- Oversee the day-to-day delivery of the outreach service, maintaining high standards of practice and client engagement
- Build and sustain positive, professional, and trusting relationships with clients, staff, and partner agencies
- Provide person-centred, asset-based support that enables individuals to address their needs and achieve meaningful goals
- Carry a caseload and participate directly in outreach work, including early, late, and occasional weekend shifts
- Promote and model good practice, ensuring consistent advice, communication, and support across the service
- Coordinate and respond to referrals from partner agencies and outreach systems in a timely and appropriate manner
- Work collaboratively with external agencies to support access to housing, health, and wider support services, advocating on behalf of clients where needed
- Monitor service delivery and outcomes, producing reports, case studies, and feedback to demonstrate impact
- Support staff development through supervision, guidance, training, and performance management
- Contribute to multi-agency meetings and joint working arrangements to improve local responses to homelessness
- Ensure health and safety, safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection requirements are met
- Support a positive team culture that promotes learning, resilience, and reflective practice
- Undertake other duties consistent with the role and service needs
