Overview
Hometown Animal Hospital/All Pets Dental Clinic is looking to fill an opening for a Veterinary Assistant with potential for growth. The clinic is an NVA owned & AAHA accredited general practice/dental referral clinic located in Weston, Florida.
Responsibilities- Assist with providing patient care, including administering vaccines, drawing blood, placing catheters, giving nail trims, cleaning ears, etc.
- Create treatment plans in Avimark based on the doctor's recommendations and present to the client for financial approval
- Collect specimens and perform basic lab work
- Take x-rays and photographs
- Client relations, including outbound calls to clients and face-to-face interaction
- Update patient medical records to reflect care given
- Ensure client satisfaction through excellent service
- Inform clients about products and services offered
- Other duties as requested
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
- Flexibility in scheduling, including working until 7pm and weekend availability in a rotating weekend schedule
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior clinical experience desired
- Prior Avimark experience a plus
- Bilingual applicants welcomed
