About the Tax Compliance Team
The Tax Compliance team is responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance for the family and their related entities, including investment partnerships, operating businesses, trusts, and philanthropic organizations. The team also collaborates closely with other internal groups to support strategic planning and implementation of new structures.
Position Summary
The Senior Tax Associate will work alongside Tax Managers to ensure timely and accurate tax filings, develop tax projections, and support strategic planning initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment with exposure to a wide range of complex tax matters.
Key Responsibilities- Review federal and state tax returns and projections for individuals, trusts, non‑profits, partnerships, and operating businesses
- Prepare detailed memoranda supporting tax positions
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors on tax strategies and planning
- Support Tax Managers and the Tax Director with research, analysis, and project execution
- Draft responses to federal and state tax notices
- Evaluate and provide feedback on the performance of external tax service providers
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and solutions‑oriented mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Team‑oriented with a commitment to excellence
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, a family office, or a related legal/tax advisory environment
- Experience with a variety of tax return types (individual, trust, partnership, non‑profit, etc.)
- CPA certification preferred
- Proficiency in tax research and compliance tools
- Competitive base salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000
