- Administer patient check‑in and check‑out processes.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
- Answer and direct calls.
- Process pre‑authorizations and pre‑certifications.
- Prepare and file medical records.
- Maintain clinical files according to protocol.
- Provide cross coverage for other administrative roles.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Ensure efficient patient flow and prepare treatment rooms and equipment.
- Perform initial intake, obtain vitals, allergies, and chief complaint information.
- Perform quality controls for point‑of‑care testing.
- Track and retrieve lab/diagnostic testing results.
- Assist in prescription renewal process.
- Provide support for departmental medical record audits.
- Maintain supplies and educational materials.
- Document patient information legibly and accurately following scope of practice.
- Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Vocational training in medical assistant or CNA may substitute. - No prior experience required.
- Ability to travel to satellite locations may be required.
- Demonstrates knowledge of pediatric patient ages and cultural sensitivity.
- Basic understanding of CT Children’s policies and environment of care.
