The Town of Westport is seeking a skilled and compassionate master’s level clinician to join our Human Services Department. This role provides clinical support, crisis intervention, and case management to residents across the lifespan, including youth, families, adults, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Working as part of a collaborative team, the Social Worker assesses needs, responds to crises, connects residents to essential resources, and supports stability, independence, and well‑being in the community.
This position is ideal for professionals committed to public service, teamwork, and making a meaningful difference in a community setting.
- Conduct intakes, assessments, and eligibility screenings
- Provide short‑term counseling, crisis intervention, and case management
- Coordinate referrals and advocate for clients
- Collaborate with Town departments and community partners
- Coordinates and administers community programs and events, including educational materials and public presentations as needed.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for meetings, emergencies, and program coverage.
- Maintain confidential records and required documentation
- Master’s degree, certification, and licensure (or in progress) in Social Work or related field in accordance with Public Act 19-164
- Minimum two (2) years of social work experience; public sector experience preferred
- Licensed or license‑eligible in social work or a related clinical field
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, other service providers, community partners, stakeholders, and the general public.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn new software programs associated with the Town and Department.
- Valid driver’s license
- Bilingual candidates encouraged
