Maitre D​/Sommelier

The Maître D will lead the party at Barcelona Wine Bar, overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's vibe and hospitality operations. At Barcelona Wine Bar, hospitality is about creating genuine connections and memorable experiences.

The Maître D will make sure every single person leaves ridiculously happy -- everything you do is in support of that. You will be empowered to do whatever it takes to give all of your guests the most amazing experience. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

The exact location of this role is to be determined, but will be located within our operating markets to support our existing restaurants.

• Own the vibe of the entire restaurant operations to create an environment that will foster personal connections with our guests and exceed their expectations.
• Responsible for maintaining the energy by setting the tone to deliver best-in-class hospitality.
• Exceeds guest expectations by delivering an experience our guests did not know they wanted.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the menu to provide a standout dining experience for all guests you interact with during service.
• Work closely with the restaurant management team to maximize guest satisfaction, including proactive communicating guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests in real time.
• Participates and leads meetings tailored around best practices for hospitality.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Availability for timely communication with our guests.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, late nights, and holiday shifts in addition to full flexibility to accommodate peak dining hours and special events.
• A track record of fostering genuine guest connections to increase sales volume.

• Guest Service Excellence: A deep understanding of how to create exceptional customer experiences, with a focus on building customer loyalty and satisfaction.
• Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
  Strong critical thinking and quick decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
• Must possess critical creative thinking to adapt to changing priorities to provide exceptional service to create a memorable dining experience for every guest.
• Communication:
  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with guests, team members, and management.

• 3+ years with prior experience as a Maître d’, lead host, or front-of-house supervisor is preferred.
• Prior wine (WSET) or beverage certifications (Cicerone) are a plus.
• Knowledge of retail/restaurant/hospitality training trends and best practices is required.
