Position: Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Job Overview

Step into a rewarding journey as a Registered Nurse in Med Surg, anchored in Westwood, New Jersey. This role blends clinical expertise, compassionate leadership, and hands‑on patient advocacy to elevate recovery, streamline care transitions, and support families during challenging times. Starting 12/29/2025, you’ll enter weeks‑long assignments designed for flexibility and growth, with opportunities to advance into leadership, specialty certification, and cross‑site collaboration.

Your daily work will span comprehensive patient assessments, wound care and infection control, post‑operative monitoring, electrolyte management, pain control, mobility coaching, and discharge planning, all carried out within a dynamic Med Surg environment that values evidence‑based practice, teamwork, and patient dignity. As you answer this call to care, you’ll discover how your expertise directly improves outcomes and strengthens communities. Beyond the hospital, New Jersey unfolds its own beauty: quiet shoreline towns, lush parks, vibrant historic districts, and access to world‑class dining, arts, and cultural experiences.

Westwood’s convenient location offers the best of suburban comfort with easy travel to major metropolitan centers, providing you a balanced backdrop for professional and personal growth.

Location Flexibility & Professional Growth

Working in Westwood places you at the heart of a thriving healthcare corridor in New Jersey while offering the flexibility to explore fellow facilities across the United States. The opportunity to rotate through multiple departments or partner facilities lets you experience a range of patient populations and clinical challenges, from high‑acuity med‑surg cases to transitional care and post‑acute settings. You’ll appreciate the supportive networking that comes with a national program, including streamlined onboarding, standardized practice protocols, and access to a wide referral network.

This mobility also means exposure to diverse patient demographics, innovative care models, and a richer professional portfolio, as you build confidence handling complex surgeries, chronic illnesses, and rapid changes in patient status. The ability to work in various locations across the U.S. is designed to broaden your clinical perspective while maintaining a stable, NJ‑based home base for weekends and seasonal preferences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments.
  • Implement individualized care plans and manage IV therapies and medication administration.
  • Monitor vital signs, recognize subtle shifts in condition, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans, recovery milestones, and safe discharge instructions.
  • Mentor junior staff, share best practices, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits

Competitive weekly pay range of $1,304 to $1,432, reflecting the value you bring to high‑volume med‑surg floors. Additional benefits include a competitive sign‑on bonus, housing assistance, and opportunities for contract extensions. While the program offers flexible assignment lengths, it does not guarantee a fixed minimum number of hours, allowing you to tailor your commitments to your personal objectives and energy levels.

A dedicated support team is available 24/7 to assist with travel logistics, clinical guidance, and emergency needs. The company champions your professional growth by facilitating specialty certifications, continuing education stipends, and structured pathways to advanced responsibilities within Med Surg or adjacent disciplines.
