Leader Education are looking for compassionate and flexible Ad Hoc SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with complex learning needs in specialist schools in the Boston Spa area
. This role is ideal for individuals seeking part‑time, morning‑only, or ad‑hoc shifts.
You will be supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, sensory needs, physical or medical requirements, and complex learning difficulties. Personal care will be required as part of this role.
Responsibilities- 1:1 support or small group assistance
- Helping pupils access the curriculum and develop key life skills
- Supporting communication through methods such as Makaton, PECS, or symbols
- Building confidence, independence, and promoting positive learning experiences
- Adapting your approach to meet each pupil’s individual needs
Pupils are likely to have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and will benefit from a patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Role RequirementsPrevious experience in a SEND setting is desirable but not essential. What matters most is a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and a willingness to learn.
