Leader Education are looking for compassionate and flexible Ad Hoc SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with complex learning needs in specialist schools in the Boston Spa area
. This role is ideal for individuals seeking part‑time, morning‑only, or ad‑hoc shifts.

You will be supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, sensory needs, physical or medical requirements, and complex learning difficulties. Personal care will be required as part of this role.

• 1:1 support or small group assistance
• Helping pupils access the curriculum and develop key life skills
• Supporting communication through methods such as Makaton, PECS, or symbols
• Building confidence, independence, and promoting positive learning experiences
• Adapting your approach to meet each pupil’s individual needs

Pupils are likely to have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and will benefit from a patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.

Previous experience in a SEND setting is desirable but not essential. What matters most is a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and a willingness to learn.
