Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Wetherby | Full-Time (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm) Temp-to-Perm Opportunity via Career Teachers

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in Wetherby to recruit a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant
. This is a full-time role, initially offered through Career Teachers, with a clear pathway to a permanent position after one term for the right candidate.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teaching staff to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC) and associated learning differences.
You will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students
- Help create a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Support students'
social, emotional, and communication development - Assist with personalised learning plans and classroom activities
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to promote confidence and independence
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEN
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Confident working as part of a collaborative team
- Ideally experienced in SEN settings (but this is not essential - the right attitude matters most!)
- Committed to making a long-term difference in students’ lives
- A full-time role with consistent hours (no shift work)
- The opportunity to gain valuable experience in a specialist SEN setting
