Bank Pharmacy Technician – HMP Wealstun

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Wealstun, a Category C prison located near Wetherby, Yorkshire. HMP Wealstun is a male prison that focuses on training and education. The pharmacy has its own dispensary and consists of a full team of around 15 staff, both permanent and bank.

0‑hour shifts / 9.5‑hour days – 07:30 – 17:30, weekday and weekend availability.

£21.76 per hour.

• Ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
• Ensuring timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost‑effective prescribing as defined through our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.

• Communicating complex or sensitive information whilst demonstrating empathy and understanding to patients.

• NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent qualifications
• Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• Relevant post‑qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
• Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (ideal but not essential)

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
