Job Summary

Pharmacy Dispenser to join the Pharmacy team at HMP Wealstun, a Category C male prison located in Wetherby.

Shift patterns: 07:30‑17:30 or 07:00‑17:00. Four‑day working week with weekend work, 37.5 hours per week.

Annual salary up to £29,723 per annum, depending on experience (minimum £25,557).

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management.
• Work as an active member of the pharmaceutical team to deliver pharmacy services.
• Provide timely and efficient services to prison wings.
• Receive prescriptions and handle stick returns from wing‑based clinical areas.
• Collect orders from suppliers at the main gate and arrange return collections.
• Participate in the dispensing of prescriptions.

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent, or working towards it.
• Medicines handling experience desirable.
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
• Non‑judgmental and compassionate approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good IT skills and IT literacy.
• Ability to work in a busy environment.
• Capability to work unsupervised while adhering to policy and procedures.
