Water/Wastewater Project Engineer

Location:

Wethersfield, CT

Base pay range: $80,000.00 – $ per year.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver water, wastewater, and stormwater design projects.
  • Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects and tasks.
  • Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians within the local and regional water group.
  • Complete civil design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons, and other technical work as required for each assignment.
  • Assist in the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Participate in professional organizations for marketing, industry recognition, networking, and building the Jacobs brand.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • PE license in the state of CT required or the ability to obtain one within one year.
  • At least 5 years of consulting experience for water and wastewater clients.
  • Experience serving diverse clients in drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of water and wastewater conveyance and/or treatment processes, master planning, and condition assessments.
  • Willingness to learn Jacobs’ proprietary tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Technical writing, reviewing, and providing clear, concise input to investigations, memorandums, or solutions reports.
  • Working knowledge of local and state design codes and standards.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience in AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS required.
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience managing deliverables to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Experience providing services during construction.
  • Involvement in professional society organizations, community organizations, or volunteer leadership roles.
  • Self‑motivated initiator, demonstrated through professional society involvements or related activities.
