Entry‑Level Geotechnical Engineer

We are looking for an entry‑level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Boston office and perform design and analysis of foundation systems, retaining structures, and slopes for transportation infrastructure projects for both public and private clients. Your engineering skills will grow through the design and analysis of shallow and deep foundations, including piles, drilled shafts, retaining walls, and excavation support systems.
You will also inspect geotechnical exploratory and construction activities, develop and provide oversight of subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs, and work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business to deliver bold solutions for everyday living.
Responsibilities- Design and analyze foundation systems, retaining structures, and slopes for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Perform design and analysis of shallow and deep foundations, including piles and drilled shafts.
- Oversee subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs.
- Inspect geotechnical exploratory and construction activities.
- Collaborate with Engineers and Project Managers to deliver innovative solutions.
- Support project and document preparation related to geotechnical design and analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques.
- Engineer‑In‑Training certificate.
- 0–2 years of design experience in a consulting or contracting environment.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel for work.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer skills including CADD and Microsoft Office.
- Driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
- At least a 3.0 GPA.
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Previous internship in geotechnical evaluations, soil and rock classification, or foundation design.
- Familiarity with geotechnical analysis programs such as Ensoft APile, LPile, Geo Studio Slope, Rocscience SLIDE, GRLWeap, Deep Ex, Bentley gINT/Open ground, and AutoCAD.
- Python programming experience and application of AI/ML in civil engineering.
- Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
