Structural Design Technician – Jacobs

Join Jacobs as a Structural Design Technician. As a key member of our Advanced Manufacturing team, you will work closely with clients and construction trade partners to develop design concepts, create models from scratch, and coordinate designs while considering existing conditions and other disciplines. You will convey structural requirements to the construction team through traditional 2D paper deliverables and/or BIM 3D Revit models.

You may also lead a small project with a team of designers, establishing project standards, procedures, training, developing the team, and maintaining team morale.

• Develop design concepts and create structural models from scratch.
• Coordinate designs to consider existing conditions and integrate with other disciplines.
• Convey structural requirements through 2D paper deliverables and/or BIM 3D Revit models.
• Provide leadership for small projects, establishing standards, procedures, training, and team morale.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years drafting/design experience in the structural field.
• At least 1 year of Revit experience.
• At least 3 years of AutoCAD design experience.

• At least 2 years of Revit experience.
• Experience working on traditional steel and concrete structures.
• Experience leading a team of designers.
• Experience with healthcare, institutional, or commercial buildings.
• Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam.

$61,100.00 – $84,000.00 per year.
