The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians, PA, or NP with clerical duties, patient flow, patient care, and procedures.
Essential Job Functions- Prepare the examination room and maintain efficient patient flow.
- Escort patients into the room, clean the room when the exam is complete, and ensure proper preparation for visits.
- Obtain vital signs, document accurately in EHR, review medication list, and enter orders in PMS/EHR.
- Schedule appointments accurately, stock examination rooms with necessary supplies, and reconcile encounters daily.
- Communicate problems, concerns, or issues to Supervisor/Manager promptly, perform within scope of practice, and administer medications safely.
- Provide scribing services and facilitate transition of care to UCC/Hospital.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Physical mobility, agility, dexterity, and endurance (continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking).
- Environmental risks: allergens (dust, mold, pollen).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
- Basic proficiency in computer use required.
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
- Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner required.
- Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed required.
- Travel to satellite locations as needed.
