About The PositionThe Social Worker position is one of the first points of contact to all eligible residents interested in residence Social Workeris responsible for reviewing all collateral documentation ahead of a youth’s referral to understand the youth’s clinical needs, behaviors that will need ongoing support, and any challenges that may be expressed during the transition period. The Social Workeris responsible for contributing to a supportive and therapeutic milieu and supporting/educating staff on individual resident needs and effective strategies to increase youth motivation and buy-in.
The Social Worker will also provide crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies as needed to return a youth to safety andcreate a plan for positive re-entry to the TLP community if needed.
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field
- Experience working with a young adult or juvenile justice population, residential treatment, or community-based behavioral health services.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage youth who may demonstrate resistance or mistrust.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to utilize a company provided vehicle.
- Knowledge of adolescent development, trauma, cultural competency, and restorative justice principles.
- Ability to Maintain a Flexible schedule.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

- Provides DBT training education and support to staff and youth; including useof motivational interviewing skills and restorative practices.
- Develops, implements, and manages the youth’s service plan with the goal of a successful transition to independent living.
- Meet with youth at a minimum of two times per week and facilitate weekly groups (DBT, Life Skills, Vocational/Prosocial programming etc.).
- Comply with weekly documentation requirements.
- Comply with all JBCSSD contractual expectations for reporting, documenting, and data entry requirements to the CDCS (data collection portal).
- Support youth as they interface with external Medical and Mental Health systems.

- Performs other duties as assigned by Program Director; including program coverage as needed in the Program Director’s absence.
- Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
- 1 late day per week of 11:00am-7:00pm will be required and agreed upon between the employee and Program Director.
- Will need to have flexible availability for on-call situations and department/ emergency coverage.
