Residential Aide – Part‑Time 16 hrs. Friday & Saturday 3 pm – 11 pm – Hartford Ave.
Join Continuum of Care as a Residential Aide during the 2‑shift weekend. Payroll is $19.39 per hour, with a weekend differential of $1 (effective $20.39). The program is located in Wethersfield and serves individuals with severe mental illness, intellectual disability and/or addiction.
Responsibilities- Establish rapport with residents, maintain professional boundaries and promote a trusting relationship.
- Assist with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, housekeeping, laundry, nutrition, budgeting and leisure activities.
- Lead or co‑facilitate psycho‑educational groups, community integration and social recreation activities.
- Provide transportation to appointments, assist with travel planning and use of public and private transportation.
- Conduct regular apartment/room inspections and assist residents in maintaining cleanliness of their living spaces.
- Perform safety rounds, administer breathalyzer or urinalysis samples as applicable and document shift logs in the electronic record.
- Document and monitor medication self‑administration and respond to crisis situations as outlined in non‑violent practices.
- Attend staff meetings, clinical rounds and participate in agency committees to ensure quality service delivery.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum 1 year experience in related healthcare field; licensed CNA or equivalent certification accepted in lieu of experience.
- Prior experience working with individuals with severe mental illness, intellectual disability and/or addiction.
- Valid Connecticut Driver’s License with clean driving record; willingness to transport clients in personal vehicle.
- CPR/First Aid certification; maintain ongoing certification.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and electronic record keeping.
- Knowledge of community support system and resources preferred.
- Competitive wage $19.39/hr with weekend differential.
