Financial Controller

A fast-growing, private equity-backed manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to strengthen financial control and costing capability during its next phase of growth. With turnover now exceeding £100m and an active acquisition pipeline, the business needs a hands-on finance leader who understands product costing, inventory and operational discipline. This role is rooted in the engine room of the business.

You will take ownership of month-end, balance sheet integrity and, critically, the accuracy of costing, WIP and inventory reporting. Working closely with operations, you will ensure labour and overhead absorption is robust, GRNI and stock controls are tight, and margins are properly understood and explained . While the business is PE-backed and acquisitive, this is not a purely strategic role.

It requires someone comfortable getting into the detail: interrogating ERP data, reconciling stock, reviewing standard costs, tightening controls and embedding consistent processes across sites. There is a team in place, but this role sets the standard, driving accountability, improving reporting accuracy and ensuring the numbers stand up under scrutiny.

Key Requirements:

* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
* Strong manufacturing background
* Proven experience with product costing, WIP and inventory control
* Hands-on ERP experience and confidence working with operational data
* Experience operating in a PE-backed or high-growth environment advantageous What's on
