Housekeeper - Part-Time

A family based in Weybridge, Surrey, is looking for an experienced and proactive Housekeeper to help keep their busy family home organised, tidy and running smoothly.

The family lives in a three-storey, five-bedroom Edwardian house and has three school-age children and three cats. They already employ a cleaner on a Thursday morning who carries out the deeper cleaning, so this role is focused on the day-to-day upkeep and organisation of the home, alongside laundry, ironing and some light food preparation.

The role is for 8 hours per week, ideally split across two mornings on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday. There may be scope for the hours to increase to three mornings per week in the future.

Both parents work, with one working from a garden office at home most days and the other usually working from home on Fridays.

The family is looking for someone experienced, reliable and trustworthy who is naturally organised and proactive and can see what needs doing without requiring lots of direction.

• Keeping the home generally tidy, organised and well maintained
• Tidying and cleaning the kitchen, particularly after breakfast
• Managing household laundry, including sorting, washing, ironing, folding and putting away
• Organising wardrobes and keeping clothing and belongings in order
• Organising kitchen cupboards, drawers and the utility room
• Keeping on top of general household organisation
• Monitoring household and store cupboard supplies and noting items that need replenishing
• Helping with weekly meal planning and preparing shopping lists
• Some light food preparation for family evening meals
• Working alongside the family's existing weekly cleaner to ensure the home runs smoothly
• Helping with other reasonable household tasks as required

• Previous experience working as a Housekeeper in a private household
• Confident with laundry and ironing
• Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail
• Proactive and able to work independently
• Reliable, trustworthy and discreet
• Friendly and comfortable working in a family home
• Comfortable around cats
• Good spoken English
• Driver not required

• £24-£25 gross per hour
