About the Team

We are a large, diverse and supportive team working across community and hospital settings to help adults with eligible care and support needs live as independently as possible. Using a strengths-based approach, we provide advice, guidance, safeguarding support and access to community resources, while promoting choice, control and wellbeing.

Working closely with residents, carers, families and partner organisations, we are committed to helping people achieve the best possible outcomes and ensuring carers feel valued and supported. We foster a friendly, collaborative and reflective culture, encouraging continuous learning, development and innovation.

The team supports adults aged 18+ with care and support needs, including older people, those with physical disabilities, long-term illnesses and sensory impairments. Successful candidates will benefit from a structured induction, strong team support, excellent training and development opportunities, including the Social Work Academy's Senior Readiness Programme.

About the Role

Using a strengths-based approach you will be working with residents who have differing and/or complex needs, providing you with an opportunity to consolidate your existing skills and knowledge while developing new practice capabilities.

We recognise that newly qualified Social Workers need an additional period of support in their transition into practice. Therefore, our established ASYE programme will provide you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and professional Social Work identity.

You will be paired with an Assessor who will provide regular supervision, direct observations, and tailored feedback aligned to your learning objectives. You will complete an ASYE Portfolio to evidence your development against the Professional Capability Standards (for the ASYE level), and to develop critically reflective practice. The programme offers protected development time, a protected caseload, and opportunities for shadowing and cross‑team learning across core areas of adult social care practice, such as effective assessments, outcome-based support planning, safeguarding adults and mental capacity.

Together, these elements help you build confidence and professional autonomy as you progress through your first year as a qualified Social Worker. Successful completion of the ASYE is a requirement in this role.

Further information about the ASYE Programme can be found here .
