Responsibilities
  • Lead and drive the Parent Child Division in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and ACNO colleagues, modeling a culture focused on employee engagement, quality, patient safety, fiscal responsibility, and patient experience.
  • Demonstrate and lead by example the ANA Nursing Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and associated Specialty Scope and Standards of Practice.
  • Assess knowledge, skills, and abilities related to effective leadership using the AONL Nurse Leader Core Competency Model.
  • Provide leadership for health system programs and objectives, including service development, personnel management, resource allocation, and care delivery in maternal child health, neonatology, and pediatrics.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, practice operations, and system colleagues to optimize care delivery; ensure effective partnerships with local partners, patient advocacy, and contractual agreements.
  • Lead projects on clinical care outcomes, performance improvement, and cost-effective solutions; promote best practices across the organization.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to present core activities to the team and senior leadership, with monthly updates.
  • Convene, lead, and monitor regional work groups to address opportunities in the Parent Child Division.
Leadership and Management
  • Provide leadership and strategic planning to operationalize care delivery services and develop a coordinated parent child nursing strategy.
  • Supervise inpatient and related outpatient departments; collaborate with CNO and medical staff leadership to evolve the organizational model to meet patient care needs.
  • Coordinate safe, high-quality care through care management, process evaluation, and outcome metric reviews; optimize use of RNs, social workers, and other staff.
  • Drive professional growth, spread best practices, and provide flexible staffing; convene and monitor regional work groups as needed.
  • Lead and analyze key nursing metrics; utilize data to improve patient care and other performance indicators.
Care Transition Partnerships
  • Coordinate services across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings; build community relationships and identify gaps in care.
  • Promote use of community resources to enhance patient experience and maintain positive relations with continuum of care providers.
Other Leadership Responsibilities
  • Develop communications and ensure high-quality, professional documents; serve as stand-in for the CNO in meetings when needed; participate in committees.
  • Lead or participate in special projects and related tasks as required.
Job Requirements

Minimum Education: MSN (or MS with BS in Nursing);
Doctorate preferred

Minimum

Work Experience:

Minimum five years of clinical nursing experience with leadership progression; last 3 of 5 years in a direct leadership role in a hospital or direct patient care environment with demonstrated expertise in Pediatrics, NICU, or Labor/Delivery. Academic Medical Center or Magnet designation preferred.

Required

Certifications:

Massachusetts RN license without restrictions; current certification preferred or to be attained within two years of hire; professional nursing certification must be maintained during employment.

Additional Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Analytical skills to create trend analyses, process analyses, and identify system weaknesses; experience in operations and project management.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and delegate effectively.
  • Theoretical skills for systems approaches to problem solving; strong written and oral communication.
  • Interpersonal and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders and vendors.
  • Independent and collaborative work style; creative problem solving; technology proficiency (Microsoft Office, EPIC, RL Solutions, Workday, LMS).
